The Big Four is a strategy-based game. Similar to games like Risk and Diplomacy, which are based on the conquest of territories, my game operates on the conquest of data: the most coveted commodity of this century.
All the devices and technology we use gather our personal data which not only helps them calibrate our experience, but helps them build better artificial intelligence systems. By playing the roles of major tech giants, players in the game are tasked with tactically gathering their users’ data. Each company has a different motive, which often overlaps with others’ to cause disputes.
Problem is, once these firms have our data, it is no longer a qualitative piece of information, but a quantifiable unit which can be bought or sold without our knowledge. Similarly, user data simply becomes a quantifiable unit in the game to gain leverage and settle disputes.
